Headrush, Ireland: A creative collective, creating a platform for artists of all disciplines.
I have worked with Headrush, Ireland on a number of projects.
Headrush, Ireland Logo
I worked with Headrush, Ireland to create their new logo. The logo is used on their website, social media and correspondence. It is a simple design with a clean black and white colour palette. The main logo is the circular design and I also designed a rectangular logo for use on other mediums.

We Like It Here Posters
I designed the teaser poster for the show which depicts the three characters as lights with some shining brighter than others along with a dark colour palette as the director wanted the viewer to know that the show was sinister. I also consulted on the design and layout of the show poster.
“We Like It Here” is an exhilarating new play that immerses you in the world of three sisters in the rural town of Ballyarby. Except it all exists within their front room.

With their father now missing, the sisters only have themselves and the village guard Thomas to keep the world of Ballyarby and the people within it alive, even if some of them are beginning to have their doubts. Daley's writing demonstrates what it is to be young and isolated in rural Ireland today, playing with our need to pretend to survive.

Assembly Required Poster and Advertising Material
Posters, props and marketing material I designed and created for Headrush, Ireland's production 'Assembly Required'. The poster depicts the box that Ali, the AI character, arrives in. The font that Ali’s name is written in on the box is OCR A. This font was chosen as its original design purpose was to allow machines and humans to understand it. I felt that this font matched the show’s theme where the line between machine and human blurs.
Mia is convinced her flat is haunted. She lives alone, and Rob, her non-committal boyfriend, refuses to move in. With the strange noises refusing to stop, Mia takes matters into her own hands and orders a friend online. An artificial friend, who appears to be much more human than Mia expected. When the friend, Ali, arrives, Mia must teach her how to be the human friend she needs. The two grow close. Mia is thrilled with her lifelike companion, and Ali learns everything she can from her human instructor. Ali soon discovers that she wants to be like Mia. To have a human life like her. And she will stop at nothing to get it.

Assembly Required is a meditation on what it means to be human, and on how humanity is taught or passed on. Artificial intelligence is a constant in modern life and it is unavoidable when we look to the future. What if the AI was indistinguishable from a human? What if it was a commodity which someone could buy as a friend? Would we choose to live with real humans, or surround ourselves with replacement humans that are more malleable, more suggestible? As the lines between reality and technology blur, we see that humanity may not be confined to humans - and, as a result, we pass on both our positive and negative traits as a species.
