TWOOTH application poster
TWOOTH was designed for my Design Research in Practice module. I worked with a group to research and understand the topic of Dental Care. Once the research had been completed, we developed an individual final product.
What is Twooth?
Twooth was created to assist users with brushing their teeth for the recommended time of two minutes while also making dental care more enjoyable and educational. The app is also made to be simple and nonintrusive for the user.
What problems does it solve?
From our research, we found that many people don’t brush for the recommended time of two minutes which puts them at risk of things like gum disease. Having a simple app that launches automatically and assists the user with timekeeping ensures that users create a good dental care routine.
Also, we found that there don’t seem to be many aspects of dental care that people like, so by incorporating challenges and friends it will hopefully encourage people to engage more with dental care resulting in healthier teeth.
The apps provides motivation for the user to brush their teeth, as we found some people don’t find it easy to motivate themselves.
Finally, we found that some users forget to brush their teeth and this app ensures that the user is reminded to brush for the recommended amount of time, 2 minutes twice a day.
What advantages does it give the user?
It gives peace of mind to the user that they will be assisted with brushing for the correct amount of time, meaning they may be more likely to engage with brushing.
